Prosecutors in Rieti on Thursday
opened a probe into culpable disaster in relation to the
devastation caused by the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in central
Italy on Wednesday morning.
The investigation will also shed light on the collapse of
buildings that were recently restored, including the bell tower
in the Lazio town of Accumoli and the school in nearby Amatrice.
Chief prosecutor Giuseppe Saieva made a preliminary
inspection and ordered several buildings to be requisitioned
Wednesday.
