Italy has arrested one
Gambian and one Somali national on suspicion of migrant
trafficking after the Italian Navy rescued a total of 576 asylum
seekers and recovered the body of a Somali man in the
Mediterranean over the weekend.
It is believed they left aboard seven different vessels
from the Libyan coastal city of Sabratha.
The asylum seekers were rescued in seven different
operations Saturday in the waters between Libya and Italy's
Lampedusa Island.
