Police are seeking a suspect in
the stabbing murder of an escort whose body was found Friday in
a two-star hotel room in the Bologna-area town of San Pietro in
Casale.
The 47-year-old woman was lying on the bed and had several
stab wounds.
Police are seeking a man, also aged 47, who left the Hotel
Melograno located along Provincial Road 20 at 01:00 in the
morning.
He is from Ferrara and is known to police because he was
under house arrest for robbing a prostitute.
Investigators traced the man's identity after recovering
the victim's agenda.
He fled in the victim's car, leaving his own at the hotel.
The hotel maid entered the room at 07:00, saw the woman
lying under a sheet, thought she was asleep and left. The owner
of the hotel went back up later in the day and discovered the
body.
