A judge in this Marche town on
Monday failed to uphold the arrest of rightist soccer ultra
Amedeo Mancini in the alleged race-hate manslaughter death of
Nigerian asylum seeker Emmanuel Chidi Nnamdi, but ordered
preventive custody in jail for Mancini, having established
serious grounds. Mancini allegedly felled Nnamdi with a single
blow after a fight sparked when the farmer and former boxer
called Nnamdi's wife an "African monkey". Nnamdi died because of
the violent impact of the back of his head on the ground, an
autopsy showed Friday.
