State pensions institute INPS on Monday said that about 18.2% of civil servant pensioners receive less than 1,000 euros per month.
It said just over half, or 51.3%, of civil servant pensions total between 1,000 and 1,999.99 euros per month; 22.8% total between 2,000 and 2,999.99 euros per month; and 7.8% total 3,000 euros or more gross per month.
In terms of geographical regions, 38.8% of all civil servant pensions go to those living in Italy's north, with 36.3% to the south and islands, and 24.8% to central Italy.
More than half, 58.6%, of civil service pensioners are women.
