The man convicted of the rape and
murder of British student Meredith Kercher has been given a
36-hour furlough on good behavior, his lawyer said Monday.
Ivorian national Rudy Guede is serving a 16-year sentence
for the 2007 killing in Perugia.
"He has always lied," Raffaele Sollecito, who was tried and
ultimately acquitted in the case along with co-defendant Amanda
Knox, told ANSA.
"I would prefer him to show remorse for what he's done".
Guede's fingerprints and DNA were found all over the crime
scene and the victim, who suffocated in her own blood on her
bedroom floor after she was raped and stabbed.
