State railway company Ferrovie
dello Stato (FS) marked the International Day for the
Elimination of Violence against Women on Wednesday by renewing
its partnership with WeWorld Onlus in projects to raise
awareness of the scourge.
These include 'Help Women's Center' involving training for
FS help centre staff in Rome and Naples.
In addition, FS has prepared 50,000 brochures for
distribution on Frecciarossa trains running between Milan and
Naples and in 15 help centres in major Italian stations
containing useful information for victims of maltreatment and
abuse.
"The aim is to sensitise passengers and citizens about a
social scourge that cannot and must not be relegated to the
private sphere, but concerns all of us," a statement said.
