A 15-year-old Somali boy died of
heart failure Monday after being rescued by a Medecins sans
Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) boat in the Sicilian
Channel between Italy and Africa, MSF said Tuesday.
The boy died of injuries sustained in Libya where he was
beaten while being forced to work without food or water, fellow
refugees told reporters.
The MSF ship, which rescued some 300 refugees including
women and children, tied up in the port of Agusta Tuesday
morning.
Italian Coast Guard units rescued a boat carrying around
120 migrants off the southern coast of Italy.
