Civil protection airborne
firefighters have taken off 418 times since June 15 this year,
the civil protection department said Friday.
This compares to 116 requests from regions in 2013 and 176
in 2014.
In the southern Campania region, civil protection was
called in 90 times this year, against five times in 2013 and
once last year.
In the central Lazio region, requests this year totaled 73
against three and two in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
