Italian police on Thursday seized
600,000 euros from a well-known boss of Puglia mafia the Sacra
Corona Unita (United Holy Crown, SCU), Pasquale Putignano.
Putignano, 66, has a long record of mafia-related crimes
including extortion, police said.
The SCU is Italy's fourth and least powerful mafia after
Calabria's 'Ndrangheta, Sicily's Cosa Nostra and Campania's
Camorra.
