A 43-year-old man was
ambushed, shot and killed in front of the garage where he was
temporarily living in Calabria, police said on Monday.
Nicodemo Aloe was separated from his wife and living in the
downstairs garage of her house.
He was known to authorities for a 2012 report of domestic
abuse, but police said he had no known ties to organized crime.
Initial police reconstructions said that Aloe received a
phone call, walked outside, and was shot upon exiting the
garage.
Aloe's brother, who owns a bar about 30 metres from the
house, called police after hearing the shots.
Police have ruled out links to organized crime for the
moment and are investigating to find a possible motive for the
shooting.
