Police have arrested two men
on suspicion of kidnapping a businessman and his son, sources
said Tuesday.
The suspects aged 66 and 52 were detained for allegedly
luring the businessman to a meeting and then kidnapping him some
days ago.
They allegedly attempted to strong-arm him into awarding
them a subcontract on a flood- and landslide-protection job he
was doing for the town of Avella, in the southern Campania
region.
The victim and his son were held for a few hours and
released unharmed.
The suspects were found in possession of two loaded guns,
according to police.
