Prosecutors in Aosta said Monday they were investigating three ski instructors after the death of a seven-year-old boy on Saturday in northern Italy.
Prosecutors said the trio faced allegations of culpable homicide after the boy, Lorenzo Bacci of Milan, fell 40 metres from a cliff near La Thuile.
The instructors were in charge of supervision during a race involving young skiers.
Doctors have removed the dead boy's heart, lungs and other organs for transplant.
His family reportedly visited La Thuile, in Italy's Alps near the French border, summer and winter.
