Residents around the
south-central Italian region of Molise were shaken Wednesday
shortly after noon by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1,
according to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and
Volcanology.
Many fled the homes during the earthquake that was felt at
about 12:40 p.m. local time and had its epicenter 29 kilometres
from Campobasso, a city of about 50,000 residents.
The quake was felt as far north as Abruzzo.
No injuries were reported.
