Police said Thursday that
several new arrests were made in connection with the July murder
of convicted fraudster Silvio Fanella, with work led by Rome
district anti-mafia directorate. Fanella had been sentenced to
nine years in jail in a case of fraud and money laundering
involving telecommunications companies. Police said many of
those suspected in involvement in the killing of Fanella had
links to far-right organizations. Police had earlier detained
Egidio Giuliani, allegedly a former extremists, in the case.
