Rome prosecutors have opened a
murder probe in relation to the disappearance five years ago of
Alfredo Guagnelli, a former aide to Democratic Party (PD) MP
Marco Di Stefano, sources said Wednesday.
Di Stefano is being investigated for corruption in a
related probe.
Investigators believe Guagnelli received a 300,000-euro
bribe by real estate builders Antonio and Daniele Pulcini, who
also allegedly paid Di Stefano 1.8 million euros to steer
contracts their way.
The MP will be heard as a witness under investigation in a
related probe, the sources said.
