A Padua teenager was
hospitalized in critical condition after he fell while trying to
take a selfie with the Colosseum in the background, police said
Monday.
Mattia M., who turned 18 on Monday, was celebrating his
birthday with friends when he scaled a fence to get a better
shot of the Colosseum and plunged five meters below, hitting his
head.
He is in a medically induced coma at San Giovanni hospital,
where his parents have joined him from Padua.
