(ANSA) - Milano, September 23 - An exhibit on ancient food
and primitive agriculture will open its doors Thursday in the
Coldiretti pavilion at Milan Expo 2015.
The show, entitled From Prehistory to the Bible,
illustrates key agricultural products that have proven essential
through the centuries, from mythical 'manna' to cooked wine,
from mead to eikorn wheat, the genetically oldest variety of
cultivated wheat. Eikorn is a native of north-central Turkey and
has been found in some archeological artifacts dating back
23,000 years.
The Italian farmers' association exhibit seeks to
demonstrate the commitment farmers have shown in protecting a
biodiversity that contributes to making Italian agriculture
among the most environmentally responsible in Europe.
