(ANSA) - Milan, March 19 - Palazzo Italia, one of the buildings of the Italian pavilion at the Milan Expo world's fair, has been built with innovative material including biodynamic cement by Italian construction company Italcementi, Enrico Scalchi, who is in charge of product development, said Thursday at the Building Expo exhibit in Italy's financial capital.
Scalchi said that 15 researchers worked on the development of the new cement used to build the structure's 750 panels by Italcementi, which produces construction materials and is one of the world's largest cement producers.
"This experience follows Expo 2010 in Shanghai, where we built for the Universal Exposition the transparent cement that characterized the Italian pavilion", said Scalchi.
Over 2,000 tons of material were used for the Milan pavilion, he added.
