Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on
Monday told reporters that negotiations with ArcelorMittal on
the former ILVA steelworks have just started.
"Negotiations with Mittal are only at the beginning", Conte
said on the sidelines of a congress organized by ENI, denying
allegations that Mittal would be ready to pay one billion euros
to get out of their contract to take over the former ILVA steel
works including its Taranto plant, the biggest in Europe.
ArcelorMittal in November filed suit to get out of their
contract.
