The Milan stock exchange's FTSE
Mib index closed down 3.54% on 18,643 points on Thursday.
The bourse was hit by international market turmoil sparked by
concerns about impact of the arrest in Canada of Meng Wanzhou,
the CEO of Chinese tech giant Huawei.
She now faces extradition to the United States.
The spread between Italy's 10-year BTP bond and the German
Bund closed on 296 basis points on Thursday up sharply from 278
on Wednesday.
The yield on the BTP was 3.19%.
