Consumer confidence up - ISTAT

Higher expectations on family situation and unemployment

(ANSA) - Rome, October 30 - Consumer confidence rose in October while business confidence fell, ISTAT said Tuesday.
The consumer confidence index rose from 116.1 to 116.6 while the business confidence index fell from 103.6 to 102.6, the statistics agency said.
"The improvement in the climate of consumer confidence," ISTAT said, "stems in particular from a positive evaluation of the family situation and from favourable prospects both on the family and on unemployment, while the judgement and expectations on the country's economic situation have worsened."
