The spread between Italian and
German 10-year bond yields, a gauge of investor confidence, rose
back to 318 points with a yield of 3.58% after the EU rejected
Italy's 2019 budget plan, but then fell back to 313 and 3.54%.
In both cases they were the highest since last Friday when
the spread hit levele last seen at the start fo 2013.
The European Commission said it had had no alternative but to
reject the plan.
