Victor Massiah, the CEO of
Italian bank UBI, said Friday that Italy's rising bank spread
would make it increasingly difficult for institutes to grant
loans.
"The lower the coefficient of capital, the lower the leverage
for the bank sector to make loans," Massiah said.
"The more institutional investors fear investing in the
country, the more complex funding becomes.
"Today funding is not an emergency, but everyone has to be
aware of the mechanisms and the consequences".
