European Central Bank President
Mario Draghi said Tuesday that the problem of non-performing
loans (NPLs) has not been sorted out completely.
"Although the level of NPLs have fallen for major banks, from
around 7.5% at the start of 2015 to 5.5% today, the problem has
not yet been resolved," Draghi said.
"Addressing the problem (of bad loans) is a precondition for
the other pillars of the banking union.
"There is no room for self congratulation".
