The Bank of Italy said Monday that
the number of bank counters in the country dropped from 30,259
in 2015 to 29,000 last year. There were 33,000 in 2010.
The number of banks has dropped too, from 644 to 600. This
number is set to fall further due to mergers and takeovers that
are going through or on the horizon.
