Padoan greeted good growth and jobs data Thursday by tweeting
"the economy is growing at its fastest pace since 2011 and
creating jobs. The right direction, change is helping to
accelerate". ISTAT said Italy's gross domestic product (GDP) was
up by 0.3% in the third quarter with respect to the previous
three months and up by 1% compared to the same period in 2015.
Italy's unemployment rate, meanwhile, fell to 11.6% in October,
down 0.1 of a percentage point on the previous month, ISTAT
said. Italy's unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 who are
actively on the labour market dropped to 36.4% in October, down
0.4 of a percentage point on September, ISTAT said.
