Premier Matteo Renzi said
Friday he was "certain" that German authorities "will do
everything necessary to prevent the crisis of Deutsche Bank
worsening". Speaking after the funeral of Israeli statesman
Shimon Peres, Renzi said "we have always said that the EU must
do everything needed to fix the situation of banks. In any case,
full support for the German government in the hope and
conviction that it will be able to address Deutsche Bank's
problems". Deutsche Bank shares tumbled Friday after some
hedge funds pulled billions of dollars in derivatives from
the German giant amid concerns about its stability and their
exposure.
