Turnover in the services sector
rose by 2% in the second quarter of 2016 over the same period
last year and by 1% over the first quarter of this year, with
accelerated growth compared to the previous two quarters,
national statistics institute Istat said on Tuesday.
Year-on-year figures showed an increase in turnover
especially in wholesale trade and car and motorbike sales and
repairs (3.5%), information and communication services (0.9%)
and professional, scientific and technical services (0.4%).
Instead, turnover fell in the second quarter in the
hospitality sector (-1%), hire services, travel services and
business support services (-0.2%), Istat said.
