(see related story on purchasing power) The Italian economy endured a fourth consecutive month of
deflation in June with an annual inflation rate of -0.4%,
according to provisional data released by Istat on Thursday.
This compares to an annual inflation rate of -0.3% in May. As
for month-on-month data, the national statistics agency added
that its consumer price index was 0.1% up with respect to May.
