Experts consulted by fuels giant
ENI on Wednesday said it "fully respected the law" at its Centro
Oli plant at Viggiano near Potenza, the subject of a probe into
graft and illegal waste disposal. It said "all operations on
environmental quality, correct procedures of reinjection and
employees' health" complied with the law. After the probe
covering various oil plants in the southern Basilicata region,
industry minister Federica Guidi resigned over an amendment that
favoured her oil-industry boyfriend, although she is not under
investigation.
