NJJ, the company through which
French businessman Xavier Niel recently acquired a 15.14% stake
in Telecom Italia, said Wednesday that no third parties were
involved in the operation. Niel's purchase means that over a
third of Telecom Italia is in French hands as French media group
Vivendi has 20.03%. This prompted Milan stock-market regulator
Consob to announce it was looking at possible links between Niel
and Vivendi. NJJ "confirms that it is working for itself and is
not acting in concert with third parties" a statement said.
