CGIL union federation leader
Susanna Camusso said Monday labor is planning a "large-scale
mobilization" against the current pensions system, which was
ushered in under the so-called Fornero law in 2011.
The mobilization to be organized along with CISL and UIL
federations will seek to change the Fornero law in order to
"rebuild an element of social justice," Camusso said.
The labor leader also rebutted Premier Matteo Renzi's
statement that his Jobs Act law brought in "new rights".
"You'd need a treasure hunt to find them," Camusso said.
"It seems to be what it did bring was a legitimization of
behaviors that the law said were illegitimate before".
Camusso went on to call for more worker participation in
management decisions and for higher salaries.
