European stocks suffered amid the
Greek debt crisis Monday with some 287 billion euros in share
value going up in smoke on the Stoxx 600 index of leading
shares.
London lost 1.97%, Frankfurt 3.56%, Paris 3.74%, Madrid
4.56% and Milan over 5%.
Milan losses accounted for some 30 billion of the total.
The spread between Italian and German 10-year bonds ended
on 159 points with a yield of 2.38%, up from around 150 at the
opening.
