Troubled Italian bank Monte dei
Paschi di Siena will launch its three-billion-euro capital
increase plan around late May or June, CEO Fabrizio Viola said
Thursday during a hearing at the Senate finance committee. The
bank is the world's oldest lender still doing business. It
emerged late last year from stress tests by the European Central
Bank with the biggest capital shortfall - 2.1 billion euros.
