Italy's annual inflation rate
edged up slightly to 0.2% in November, national statistics
agency Istat said Friday. But while the rate rose compared with
November 2013, it fell 0.2% compared with October and is far
below the 2% rate of inflation that policymakers say indicates
an economy operating at a healthy rate of growth. Meanwhile, the
agency said the EU's harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP)
fell by 0.3% in November compared with the previous month but
rose by 0.2% with respect to November 2013.
