The Milan-Cortina bid for the
2026 Winter Olympics has reached the International Olympic
Committee (IOC), with plans for the opening ceremony at Milan's
San Siro Stadium and the closing ceremony at the Verona Arena.
The 127-page bid, with photos and graphics illustrating the
proposal, includes 14 Olympic sites divided into four clusters:
Milan, Valtellina, Cortina, and Val di Fiemme.
The downhill will be at Bormio.
Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) chief Giovanni Malagò said
"with this joint bid we are precursors".
"The ship has sailed, there's no room for Nos," he added.
