Milan has come top for the first
time in the quality-of-life ranking of Italy's 110 provinces
compiled annually by financial daily Sole 24 Ore.
Italy's financial capital came first ahead of Bolzano, which
rose by two points compared to 2017, and Aosta, down one place
from last year.
The 29th edition of the ranking saw Milan take the top spot,
after coming close four times, winning second place in 2003 and
2004 and then in 2015 and 2016.
Indicators of well-being include factors such as standard of
living, business and work, health and services, population and
public order.
Vibo Valentia in Calabria ranked at the bottom of the survey
for the fourth time in 29 editions, preceded by several
provinces of southern Italy.
Rome remained relatively stable in 21st position, up from the
previous year, when it ranked 24th.
