Four teachers have been put under house arrest by Carabinieri police for allegedly physically mistreating children at a nursery in the province of Bari. The teachers allegedly slapped the pre-school pupils on their faces and arms, pushed them over, dragged them and forced them to spend long period with their heads looking down onto their desks, or standing facing a wall during the 2017-2018 school year. The teachers also allegedly threatened the children with being being tied up with rope, beaten and bitten by a dog in a addition to insulting them. Carabinieri documented the alleged abuse using hidden cameras.
