Italy's bid for the 2026 Winter
Olympics has been "closed" by Turin dropping out leaving Cortina
and Milan as the joint bidders, Cabinet Secretary Giancarlo
Giorgetti said Friday.
"The affair is over" said Giorgetti after Transport Minister
Danilo Toninelli surprisingly said a bid by Turin alone would be
"the best choice".
Giorgetti said the three cities "did not intend" to resurrect
a three-way bid.
