A death sentence for Iranian
researcher and alleged spy Ahmadreza Djalali has been suspended,
the university of eastern Piedmont said Tuesday.
Djalali, who was arrested in 2016, worked for the Italian
university for several years.
Djalali was due to be executed last Friday, but the Iranian
supreme court is reviewing the sentence and has asked a
prosecutor to express his opinion next month, the university
said.
