Italy is mourning Oscar-winning
composure Luis Enrique Bacalov, who died on Wednesday at the age
of 84.
Bacalov won the 1996 Best Music Oscar for his score for Il
Postino, a bittersweet comedy about a fictional relationship
between an Italian postman and Pablo Neruda.
It starred and was written by Italian comedian Massimo
Troisi, who died shortly after it was made.
Argentine-born Bacalov had lived in Italy since 1959 and was
a naturalised Italian.
