(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, OCTOBER 3 - A consortium of NGOs from Italy and other countries is managing an EU-funded scholastic project in Lebanon titled "Back to the Future", which will provide for the opening of 19 educational and community centres for the social and educational integration of Syrian refugee children.
The project is financed by the Madad EU Regional Trust Fund and will allow more than 18,500 children to return to school.
Participating organisations include AVSI, Terre des Hommes Italy, Terre des Hommes Netherlands, and War Child Holland.
It is estimated that there are over 200,000 Syrian refugee children without access to school in Lebanon, a country that hosts more than one million refugees.(ANSAmed).
