The head of Italy's anti-corruption
authority (ANAC), Raffaele Cantone, on Friday voiced "tension
and alarm" over a change to tender law which suppressed ANAC's
powers to send a "binding recommendation" to bidding companies.
While Cantone said he was "perplexed and worried," Transport and
Infrastructure Minister Graziano Delrio said "if there was a
technical error it must be corrected in the first legislative
instrument possible".
