The Italian Coordination of
Organisations for Voluntary Service (COSV) was among four NGOS
banned from Turkey for "national security" reasons Thursday,
Hurriyet reported.
The others are two American organisations, the Mercy Corps
and the Business Software Alliance Incorporation (BSA), and
International NGO Safety Organization (INSO) of Britain.
The ban is "incomprehensible", Deputy Foreign Minister Mario
Giro tweeted Thursday.
"We will ask for an explanation", he said.
COSV, which is based in Rome and Milan, has been working for
45 years on projects in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe.
