Italian inflation fell from 1.6% in
February to 1.4% in March, ISTAT said in its preliminary
estimates Friday.
The fall came after four straight rises, the statistics
agency said.
ISTAT said the fall was largely due to the prices of fruit
and vegetables.
Italy's inflation 'trolley' of most frequently bought goods
rose 2.3% in March compared to a February gain of 3.1%, ISTAT
said.
