The Chinese Football
Association announced at the weekend that Marcello Lippi is the
new coach of their national team.
Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning boss is not new to China.
The 68-year-old led Guangzhou Evergrande to three Chinese
titles and the Asian Champions League during his 2012-2014 stint
with the club.
China have only qualified once for the World Cup, in
2002, and failed to score at that tournament.
They are currently 84th in the world ranking.
Lippi's predecessor, Gao Hongbo, quit after a defeat to
Uzbekistan in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month.
