Pope Francis on Monday likened plotting evil to the mafia.
"Plotting evil" against those who trust you "is like the mafia", the pontiff noted, because the mafia is dark, takes away the light while faith sheds light.
Faith is a "real light" not an "artificial light", the pope also said.
"The success of the powerful" should not be envied because "the same worms who will eat them will be eating us", Francis added in his homily at Mass at Casa Santa Marta, the residence where he lives at the Vatican, excerpts of which were published by Vatican Radio.
He then urged believers not to postpone good deeds because "you don't keep good in the fridge".
"Good is today, and if you don't do it today, it won't be there tomorrow," he said.
