Premier Matteo Renzi said Friday
that he was optimistic the European Union could make good of
Britain's vote to leave it. "A very interesting new period has
started for Europe, ex malo bonum (good from evil)," he said at
the presentation of the end of the restoration of the exterior
of the Colosseum. "We'll save Europe if we start talking about
Europe's soul, its depth, not if we talk about limits and
parameters. We must take Europe back to being itself, starting
from its identity and values. That's what Italy will do".
