Works by the Chinese artist Liu
Youju will be at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence from July 2
to July 7.
The exhibition, entitled 'Demolition vs Construction', was
curated by Enrico Sartoni.
Liu Youju was born in Guangzhou - the capital of the
Guangdong Province of China and one of the largest coastal
cities in southern China - in 1955.
He has been the chairman of the China Calligraphy Research
Artist Association, President of International Chinese
Calligraphy Research Association, the Dean of Guangdong Chinese
Calligraphy Institute, Dean of Yangcheng Evening News Academy of
Arts and the visiting Professor of the Open University of China,
including several other noted universities in Beijing.
The artist has already had several exhibitions abroad,
including in November 2014, when he was invited to present his
works at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in
Yorba Linda, California. In August 2015, an exhibition of his
works was held at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and another
in October 2015 at London's British Museum.
